Chinese silk embroidery

A beautiful vintage Chinese silk embroidery featuring a striking phoenix surrounded by peonies and flowering branches, worked in soft blue, cream and gold tones against a rich red silk ground.

The phoenix and floral motifs are traditional Chinese decorative imagery, with the intricate stitching giving the piece lovely texture and detail.

We believe this embroidery dates from the 20th century, although we cannot confirm an exact date. It is presented in a wooden frame with a decorative patterned textile border, which adds to its character and traditional feel.

A wonderfully decorative piece that would look lovely in a vintage, eclectic or traditional interior, either displayed on its own or as part of a gallery wall.
